Summer Social:
The Association sponsors an annual business meeting and social for all members. Check the Event Calendar for specific dates/times. The President will give a brief update on the year’s activities and accomplishments. Many new members join at this event.
Beautification Projects & Beach Cleanup
A portion of annual dues are provided for community beautification such as the window boxes on the Surf Drive Bath House. Check the Event Calendar for specific dates/times for beach cleanups.
Civic Projects:
Members provide traffic and participant control for road races, triathlons, and other events sponsored or endorsed by the Town that occur in the Surf Drive vicinity. Beach cleanups are held annually.
Neighborhood Watch:
Many members are summer residents or “snow birds.” Year-round residents look out for unusual activity around houses or in the neighborhood.
Police and Safety Liaison:
The Town typically assigns a single point-of-contact for Association concerns. We are invited to provide counsel on safety issues in the neighborhood. OSDA provides funding for the “silent policemen” that are placed in crosswalks to the beach to warn drivers to watch for pedestrians.
Town Wastewater Management Plan:
Most of the OSDA neighborhood has been sewered already, but wastewater, storm run-off, and pollution continue to be an area of concern for the beach, the Salt Pond, and the Fresh Pond inlet.
Tuition Assistance Program:
The OSDA sponsors an annual tuition assistance program. Funds are received from a number of sources that vary from year to year. Qualified applicants should complete an application for consideration. View more details about our Tuition Assistance Program and download the application.
General Politics:
The OSDA monitors issues, candidates, and incumbent Town Administrators to voice OSDA concerns whenever applicable.
Christmas Social:
Usually held on the afternoon of the Falmouth Christmas Parade, this is an opportunity for members to gather and enjoy holiday cheer in Falmouth. Check the Events Calendar for specific date/time.
Membership:
There is strength in numbers, and OSDA leadership is always seeking new members to join our ranks. We believe that we have ample opportunities for anyone wishing to participate in neighborhood affairs. Members add value through individual participation in Association Activities, or by supporting these activities through their annual dues. Current dues are $25 per year per residence. Use our online membership form to sign up. We appreciate your support!
